Frankly Speaking... We are starting to get green with envy! With March and the warm weather on our calendar's horizon we have become excited about the new seasonal vegetables available. Especially baby greens to add a nice pop of spring to each plate. "The Big Eat Ontario" was into the restaurant and wrote about us. Check it out!
March Break Madness is maybe what you're feeling with all your kids at home. We are inviting you to bring your kids for lunch during march break. Enjoy a dessert on us, when you order a Panini, Pizza or Pasta - from our lunch menu. Not only do your kids enjoy a free complimentary dessert but so do you! St. Patrick's Day is almost here, and with it all the green luck you will need. From our bakery, we're excited to make clover cookies to spread the luck around. And all of staff have themed a special menu for the day which includes: spring pea soup, pea and basil pesto pasta and of course, Irish Coffee. Luckily you won't be finding any green bread here at Frankie's.
What's hopping up next? Frankie's is inviting you to join us for Easter Sunday Brunch. We are ramping up our regular brunch menu to include apple-wood smoked salmon with harmonious natural flavors. Having this atop eggs Benedict, is only just one of our fabulous dishes that we will be offering this Easter. Treat the family and book your reservations online, or in person when you visit Frankie's all-in-one location at 1 Main St. S. Uxbridge.
Renovations are... done? You heard us! The bakery and restaurant have together bloomed into a beautiful flower. At Frankie's we are finding our customers are loving the convenience of shopping while sitting down to a delicious meal. We feel that is is an improvement especially since our bakery hours have extended, to help everyone fit in a trip to Frankie's after a long day of work to enjoy the great breads, tarts, muffins and cookies and more!
Recipe of the month!
Whenever we make this in the Spring for our dinner patrons, it's always a hit. Try our Apple Canadian Cream sauce with your chicken. Slowly roast off your chicken in the oven and add our sauce on top.
You will need:
3-4 Chicken Breasts (cooked)
1.5 Tbs of olive oil
1/2 medium white onion diced
1 tsp of minced garlic
Half of an apple - julienne
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 Cups of whipping Cream
1.5 Tbs maple syrup (or more depending on how sweet you like things)
Warm up your olive oil in a frying pan, then add onions, garlic, and salt and pepper. Once those have become slightly tender add your julienne apples and cream. Let reduce down until the cream is thickened. Add Canadian Maple Syrup once you've taken the sauce off the heat. Pour over cooked chicken. It's as easy as that!
